Swine Flu, Truth or Dare.

November 20th, 2009

Swine flu, H1N1, and an extremelly misleading newspaper headline. Do the five major news outlets compete for advertising dollars with each other? Are they not “for profit” entities?

I welcome disagreement on this topic and healthy debate.

Are pharmaceutical companies wealthy enough to afford to advertise with these news sources on a mass scale?

Would a pharmaceutical company make money off of providing vaccines by the many many millions of doses?

Are the media giants and pharmaceutical companies among the largest corporations on the face of the planet?

Do they operate based on financial incentive and shareholder happiness?

No conspiracy thoery here….just very simple questions.

It’s absolutely ok, thanks for the effort. The more the awareness is spread the better off we all are. :) Usually, if the “embed” function is active, it is usable to anyone both via the author’s consent and Youtube’s. :)

Excellent video,in our area they are saying all flu cases are “assumed” to be H1N1 because the “regular” flu season comes a bit later in this area (N.E. Texas) So if you have the flu its supposed to he H1N1,nice way to scare folks I think into getting the vac which I will not be taking although because of other health issues my doc always tells me to get a yearly flu vac. Im sure he will tell me to get this one too when its here. Im going to post this vid on my facebook to inform others. If okay

I appreciate your input powerontap a great deal. And altho I don’t approve of the relationships between the pharma salespeople and doctors, I have never been able to prove doctors actually make commissions from prescriptions. This would be a horrendous breach of trust and conflict of interest; if you have documentation that can prove such a thing is happening, I’d welcome an email on it. Thanks.

I fully agree that …
I fully agree that pharmaceutical companies have their bottom line at the top of their interest. Salesmen from drug companies go to hospitals to try and get them to buy their products. Doctors get a comission from the drugs they sell. More food for thought: News stations almost never mention anything bad relating to prescription drugs, why? Because most of the funding for news stations comes from advertising, a.k.a commercials from prescription drug companies.

The news papers are …
The news papers are supposed to be neutral in their news, but they’re not always.

The main reason the headline would say that is to catch your attention so you actually read it.

I just think people …
I just think people are getting carried away with all these vacc./ shots. I mean my god when I was a child I didnt get any where near as many shots as they give out these days. I hardly ever even get a cold.

My son (who is …
My son (who is Autistic) had to get his booster shots a few days ago. The doctor first of all thought she was gonna give him five shots at one time. I looked at her like she had lost her mind. Than she asked me if I wanted to give him the swine flu vacc. I felt like say NO ARE YOU CRAZY!! lol… but I told her no thank you. I have reason to believe the reason my son is the way he is, is because of the shots that were given to him earlier on.
